I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education
with a kindergarten certification in 1981. I taught kindergarten for eight
years, then became a stay-at-home mom. I began teaching geography to seventh and
eighth graders in 1997. My love for history and my desire to get students to
think led me to teach high school classes. I have been married for over 30
years, have two daughters, and home schooled for twelve years. |

I am married to Tim, and we have three children. Our family
has been a part of Liberty Christian Academy since 1997.
This group has been my lifeline to
homeschooling and provided the support and the friendships that my
family
needed. I have seen our group evolve from an elementary co-op
with a few high school extracurricular classes into an outstanding
elementary group as well as an excellent high school
tutorial.
Over the years I have served as a junior high English teacher,
elementary coordinator, and elementary curriculum writer and
coordinator. I have served on LCA's board and
currently serve as Secondary Adminstrator. I have taught
seventh and eighth grade English, Introduction
to Public Speaking, and Geography. I am privileged to serve and
give back to a group which has given so much to me and my family for many years.

For many years, I worked as an RN in the hospital setting. After our
children were born, our family felt convicted to educate at home.
Homeschooling has been a vital part of our lives for many years, and I have
truly enjoyed teaching my three children at all levels: elementary, middle
school, and high school.
When I was in high school, I was completely “into” history. I was a real
history nerd! A few years ago, I began teaching World History classes at LCA.
Last year, we added a middle school history class to the schedule. These
opportunities have provided an abundance of blessings to my life, because I have
found I love teaching history, but more importantly, I love the students at
LCA.
